The KCC Official English Community Telegram hosted an AMA with NFTs Realm on September 7th, 2021. The guests were Jacob Sloan, owner and CEO of NFTs Realm, and Grant, Project Management and Marketing with NFTs Realm. The AMA was accompanied by a Twitter giveaway with 10 contestants winning $15 in KCS. Being the first fully functional NFT marketplace on KuCoin Community Chain, the topic was of course about NFTs.

You, your team and why you choose KCC

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to do an AMA in this telegram channel. My team has been excited for this for weeks now! So to give a short introduction of myself, my name is Jacob Sloan, I was born and raised in Texas in the United States.

I’ve been in and out of blockchain since early 2014. I work during the day as a carpenter and get to spend a lot of time here on KCC. I got into KCC about a week after launch because I saw it as a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new chain.

To start, yes I am fully Doxxed, I believe that if you’re running a legit project there’s no reason not to dox yourself, NFTs Realm is the first project that I’ve done of this kind. I have helped on numerous teams on the marketing side of things, and partnership development on a few highly successful Binance Smart Chain Tokens.

Some early birds in the crypto universe

Yes I’ve been around the crypto space a while! Haha. As far as my career goes, it is completely surrounded by day trading stocks, trading cryptocurrency‘s, helping develop small businesses, etc. I have put that all on the back burner and made NFTs Realm my full time job! I decided to make a Nfts Realm on Kucoin Community Chain because honestly I believe in the developers, and I believe in this community.
You really CANT beat the gas fees on KCC and for an NFT Project it’s perfect.

That [gas fees] was definitely one of the first things I noticed. I have a lot of experience on other chains and this stood out right away.
So KCC just made sense.

We are a registered company based in Houston Texas, with a team of attorneys, financial advisors, accountants etc. We wanted to do this the right way from the start!

We have 3 guys on our marketing team with professional backgrounds in marketing and business partnerships, our head developer has 8+ years in blockchain development and is a pro if I’ve ever seen one!

As we are learning about NFTs
We are always curious about this
What are your methods of blocking copyrighted or stolen works? If it’s done manually, are there any plans for an automation process for when a larger number of people will be using Realm?
Jacob
Currently it’s all manual, we have teammates scrolling through the site as well as having the community members let us know when they see something suspicious. Later on we will have an automated system, but for now we are doing it ourselves. We tell the community to please contact us if they see anything suspicious.

I also want to add that anyone can contact either of us at any time and we’ll look into it. I’m always happy to take a look and sometimes we have had real issues. I know Jacob told me early on that sometimes this stuff has to be passed to the team of attorneys to make sure everything is done the correct way.
We also ask that all community members be on the lookout for themselves.
Everyone should do their own research before making a purchase.

Also we have a verification process in place and a form to fill out in order to become a verified creator! Currently the verified artists get a tag on their TG username showing that they are verified and by next week we will have a system in place to mark down their profiles on the site stating they are verified by our team! You will have the option to search by “Verified Only”.

What kind of storage do you offer?
Jacob
Great question, storage is VERY important when it comes to NFTs.
We store all of our NFTs using firebase databases as well as NFT.storage. Your NFTs are completely safe in these databases and if worse case scenario the site goes down, we still have all of the metadata at our disposal so your NFTs will NEVER disappear!
To put into perspective, NFT.storage is used by many major NFT platforms so it’s proven to be safe and secure

NFTs are really good right now, with so much hype on it and people are buying a lot of NFTs. It is pretty expensive to mint and buy NFT on ETH mainnet.
Minting, buying, creating and selling NFTs is cheaper on KCC. How can you bring users to the network to see this amazing work?
Jacob
This is something the team discusses constantly and we consider it part of our mission statement, which can be found in our Whitepaper which we will post in here in a few minutes. Our goal is to engage with the existing KCC community and projects and also bring in as many talented NFT artists as we can to come mint their collections with us. So far we’ve had dozens of community members joining KCC just to get their hands on some of these artists original NFTs! We have proved that by growing our artist community with well known creators, people have no problem joining in on KCC to get access to new NFTs!

This is something Jacob and I have talked about constantly. Even when we first met and were talking about ideas for NFTs Realm, this was something we kept brainstorming about. We both take it on ourselves to reach out to big and small projects to see about potential partnerships. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t, but we’ve let the community know we’re always available to discuss different options. And I know Jacob has talked to some groups from other chains about coming in, and he’s also brought in some well-established artists that have already helped build the community.

We are really in a good spot to accomplish bringing new eyes to KCC as a whole since we are an NFT Marketplace, and NFTs are really getting a lot of attention right now in the mainstream and across all of crypto. We have worked with relationships we already had previously to bring in some great artists from other platforms who have come to KCC just for NFTs Realm. And we’ve also worked constantly to make contact with other projects. Some of them we can’t really talk about because of privacy for us and them. But I can guarantee you the work is being put in on our side and I feel like we’ve already spread the word, but of course we have to keep working hard.

We also take a responsibility to help build up KCC as a whole. As a marketplace, there’s not really the rivalries you might get between competing coins or projects. We view ourselves as a community hub of sorts.
When we talked about the Whitepaper, we decided to add a BUIDL section, taking the idea from Johnny Lyu. We realize we have to help build up KCC from a community standpoint.

To name one project we have worked closely with @haikutools and their team has been a great resource for us and they share just as much enthusiasm for KCC as we do. The Haiku team is like us, you can go in their telegram at almost any time and they are around, working on something. They’ve gone above and beyond multiple times for NFTs Realm and we’re hoping to keep pushing both as real pillars in the community. With building relationships in the KCC community we can expand our reach and bring in many people from other chains!

We also want to put the spotlight on the artists that have come in and added NFTs on our marketplace. NFTs Realm has targeted successful sellers on opensea and popular marketplaces on other chains. It seems like all of them have come in and added a lot to the community. I also know tons of great artists that have been on KCC since the start and it’s great to see them get recognition for their great work.

Do you guys plan on making a native token for the NFTs Realm Platform?
Jacob
At this time, a native token is in the back of our minds. We haven’t really put much thought to it at all. I know it’s a popular and common question. People recognize that NFTs Realm is a serious project that works hard so people want to have us launch a coin. But for us to start talking about a coin launch right now in our minds would hinder our marketplaces growth and take eyes off of artists and onto a token. We have important roadmap milestones we still need to hit as far as functionally and features of our marketplaces before we consider bringing our own native token into the mix.
But possibly partnering with other projects and allowing people to use their tokens as currency is something we are considering heavily 😉

I’ll also add that a lot of people were reassured that the project wasn’t launching with a coin right away, and chose instead to focus on the growth of the marketplace.
But from before launch, Jacob and I never really talked about putting in a native token right away. It was 100% focused on the marketplace and getting that right for the end user.

Can you go over some of the partnerships you have or are working on?

Sure, like I said before we are constantly in touch with tons of projects! It really says a lot about the community, since the day we opened the NFTs Realm telegram we’ve been getting projects showing interest in working with us within KCC. Basically, we have talked to every major project on KCC about potential partnerships and they all have different ideas they bring to the table. I know people want to hear specifically so I can say we’ve been talking heavily with a well known grant program project PADD Finance
about using their token as a form of payment on our site! 👀 We are hashing out details but will have a for sure plan soon! It’s very exciting actually!

One thing that has happened is that I’ll reach out to a project and see if they have some interest in working with us. We’ll discuss ideas, and then I’ll take it back to Jacob. And he says that he’s already talked to a different team member and they’re already working on it. 😂
So it really has been nonstop reaching out to different projects and we look for big ones and small ones. The small ones are the ones I mostly work with, and I don’t want to list any because I have a feeling I’ll leave some out. But with NFTs, there are so many options for different, creative ideas. So if anyone has something in mind, we are always listening!

Yes 100%! We LOVE KCC!!! And so do the artists and collectors, one thing I forgot to mention that is very important is that NFTs Realm offers $0 Gas fees to mint NFTs 👀 it’s very attractive to artists and especially to other KCC projects that want to mint NFTs on our platform

There’s a lot of projects getting started and still fairly new, so we try to help as much as we can. Even if it isn’t specifically related to NFTs, we try to help them out and give them different ideas.

If there are two artists (collaboration), will it be possible to indicate both of them in the creators?
Jacob
As of now, there isn’t. We do have some artists who are teams that post under one account. But I think this question is more about two different artists with their own accounts collaborating on a work and having it listed with credit to both of them. That’s a great idea and it’s something we will look into!
We already have the foundation in place to start thinking about extra features like this that help make us stand out, so we’re going to definitely look into this if we feel like it’s something the community wants!

One major feature we are working on (which sort of correlates to this question) is the ability to transfer NFTs from other KCC smart contracts onto our platform, such as @covidkunks and @cryptokunks where people can make their own NFT smart contract and once sold on their separate website they can then sell them on our site!

Transferring NFTs sounds really cool

Of course!
So in the coming days we will be adding a feature to directly transfer NFTs for a small gas fee straight from our platform! Also easier integration to seamlessly add your NFT collection directly to MetaMask. One more feature that will be coming soon is a burn feature, so if you accidentally mint something with an incorrect description or any other error, you can easily burn the NFT and remint it!
Also we are thinking about adding a feature to “Trade” NFTs on the platform 👀

How is the verification process? How can I be a verified artist?

Right now the verification process is done by filling out a form that is reviewed manually to make sure everything that is considered “verified” on NFTs Realm is not duplicated or just stolen from other sites. We do our research and the form requires a video uploaded of you physically creating a piece of art.

What is your perspective on copyright in your NFT market?

We don’t stand for any duplicates or stolen art! Sadly we have already had to remove some peoples art as it was proven to be stolen from other places on the internet. We take the safety of our buyers very seriously here at NFTs Realm! We also have great copyright attorneys that help us with a lot of these cases

How many artists are currently on the website? And how much in sales has NFTs Realm done

So a quick look just now showed that we are up to 141 profiles. The last numbers I personally took two days ago had us going over 300 KCS, and I know that’s gone up since I counted. I keep a pretty good eye on the sales and profiles, so I’ve seem it steadily climbing over the last 4 or 5 days.

In the last AMA, @Kuswapfinance was talking about 3D NFT. What do you know about this kind of NFTs?
Also I want to know your thoughts about games P2E with NFT?
Grant
This is definitely the big trend right now, the gamification of NFTs. We have been talking about that since before launch and I know it’s something we plan on implementing in the future. We would really love to do that and I know there are already multiple KCC projects talking about adding gamification via NFTs, so we want to be the ones that supply that to the community.

AR NFTs are AWESOME! We have plans to make this integrated into our website in the future

Of course! It’s on our internal roadmap of features to add and will be implemented at the same time as the ability to transfer NFTs from other KCC Smart contracts. We hope to see a bunch of NFTs Realm NFTs on sites such as rarity tools in the near future!

As NFTs Realm, do you think NFT technology plays an educational and guiding role in societies’ view of art? How do you see the future of NFTs?

NFT Technology goes well beyond just digital art itself, we are already talking with a few projects to allow their NFTs minted on our platform to be used in special NFT Games on KCC! NFTs in general are definitely educational in part of showing not only crypto enthusiasts but everyone in the world the power that blockchain and DeFi holds

I can speak for myself and say no way! I actually had a community member today ask me if I wanted to learn how she makes the great animated art she does, but I think sometimes you just have to know what you’re good at! It’s a little intimidating against all the great art I’ve seen on NFTs Realm.
